About
Praying Mantis – Time Tells No Lies
Original 1981 UK Release – Arista Records

Time Tells No Lies is the powerful debut album from Praying Mantis, one of the standout bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Released in 1981, this record combines melodic hard rock with sharp guitar harmonies, soaring vocals, and refined songwriting, thereby setting it apart from its heavier contemporaries.

Produced by Tim Friese-Greene, the album includes highlights like “Cheated,” “Running for Tomorrow,” and the atmospheric “Children of the Earth.” These tracks showcase the band’s knack for combining strong hooks with a tight, polished sound that remains impactful.

The original pressing features cover artwork by fantasy artist Rodney Matthews, adding a visual punch to the already compelling package. It also comes with a lyric inner sleeve, making this a complete and collectable edition for fans of classic metal and melodic rock.
