About
Mountain – The Best of Mountain
The Best of Mountain is the definitive compilation from American hard rock band Mountain, released in 1973 at the peak of their early career. The album gathers key tracks from the group’s first three studio LPs recorded between 1970 and 1971, showcasing the signature heavy blues-rock sound, thick guitar tones and powerful rhythm of Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi. From the thunderous Mississippi Queen to the majestic Nantucket Sleighride, this LP is a great introduction to Mountain’s influence on early hard rock and proto-metal. It’s a classic collection that captures the band’s enduring legacy and musical breadth.
