Metallica – Metallica (The Black Album) is one of the most iconic heavy metal records of all time. Originally released in 1991, this 2×LP edition features a minimalist all-black sleeve with the band’s logo and a coiled snake subtly embossed into the cover.

Pressed on heavyweight black vinyl with printed inner sleeves containing full lyrics and credits, this version delivers a powerful analogue sound. Produced by Bob Rock, the album includes hits like “Enter Sandman,” “Sad But True,” “The Unforgiven,” and “Nothing Else Matters.”

With James Hetfield on vocals, Kirk Hammett on lead guitar, Jason Newsted on bass, and Lars Ulrich on drums, The Black Album marked a shift toward a slower, heavier, and more polished sound that reached a wider audience and redefined modern metal.

Highly regarded by audiophiles and collectors, early pressings offer dynamic, punchy audio with deep bass and clean separation considered superior to many remastered versions.

This is an original UK pressing without the country of origin printed on the sleeves or labels. The records are housed in printed inner sleeves that contain album lyrics and credits. The labels have the Vertigo swirl design on the 1st and 3rd sides. Sleeves are (probably?) the same as in the Dutch pressing. Sleeves also have catalogue numbers corresponding to each record.
