About

Led Zeppelin – In Through The Out Door (Alternative Cover Edition) is one of the band’s most creatively packaged albums and a true collector’s piece. Initially released in 1979, this version includes a brown paper bag outer sleeve with the band name and title stamped on the front, designed to resemble a bootleg.

Inside is one of six alternative inner sleeve covers (labelled A to F), each depicting a scene inside the same bar from different perspectives. This unique concept added a layer of surprise—fans wouldn’t know which version they had until opening it.

Even more unusual, the inner artwork was printed with a special “magic ink” that turns from black and white to full colour when exposed to moisture or heat, making the package interactive and memorable.

This edition remains one of the most sought-after and artistically daring releases in Led Zeppelin’s catalogue.
