About
Black Sabbath – Heaven and Hell marked a powerful new era for the band, released in 1980 with Ronnie James Dio stepping in as lead vocalist. This was Sabbath’s first album without Ozzy Osbourne, and it brought a fresh energy and a more melodic yet still heavy sound.
The lineup featured Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, Bill Ward on drums, and Dio on vocals. Together, they created timeless tracks like “Children of the Sea,” “Neon Knights,” and the epic title track “Heaven and Hell.”
This album redefined Black Sabbath and proved the band could evolve without losing its dark edge. With a new sense of purpose, Heaven and Hell became a heavy metal classic and a fan favourite.
